Pied de Poule

With the design of this collection we wanted to express our love for the rich and ancient tradition of textile crafts of Scotland. The first fabric with a pied-de-poule pattern found, dates 1500 BC. Around 200 BC is appears in todays Sweden and the Scottish lowlands. There it will be worn for centuries bij shepherds.
It was adopted by the upper class as a status symbol for wealth in the late 1800s, but was not introduced to the fashion world until Christian Dior incorporated the pattern into his 1948 Haute Couture Spring/Summer collection.

This rich history of craft and quality fits in perfectly with Studio Myr's ethos. We are also committed to artisanal production, using indigenous, natural materials and colors, according to age-old tradition.

We've taken the pattern into our designs for women's and men's clothing and accessories, and put our own spin on it. Each color of the original two-tone jacquard, we have designed from two different colors of threads. Randomly mixing these threads creates a rich variety that is unique to each piece. The trick is to choose colors, which together form a balance. This is a meticulous process of making many tests. We hope you like the result.
