PRICING

Just like sustainability, transparency is an important pillar of Studio Myr's policy. That is why I think it is important to give you insight into the structure of the prices of my designs. Below you will find an explanation of the various factors that contribute to this. All these factors are interrelated and directly influence each other.

Certified Yarns Only

Wanting to work from the sustainability concept has direct consequences for the cost price of my designs.

Certified organic yarns are more expensive to buy than non-certified yarns, whether or not in a composition with plastics such as acrylic and polyester.

Because Studio Myr only produces in small quantities, to prevent overproduction, we also buy our yarns in small orders. The larger an order, the cheaper the yarn.

Small Production Runs

Producing in small runs also means higher costs at the factory. It is much cheaper to start up and run a machine for 500 pieces than to divide this amount over 20.

Fully Fashioned Production

Knitting garments and accessories fully fashioned is much more labour-intensive, and therefore more expensive, than knitting large pieces of cloth, from which the various panels are then cut out.

Finished by Hand

After our designs have been delivered fully fashioned, they are carefully assembled and finished in our studio.

Local Production

The reason for clothing brands to produce abroad is the lower hourly wages of the workers. Studio Myr does not want to be responsible in any way for the exploitation of people for more profit.finished by hand

Low Carbon Footprint

Locally produced also means much lower environmental impact from shipping.

Support and Revaluation of Local Crafts and Small Industries

Working in a traditional way and on a human scale fits within Studio Myr's philosophy to make products of personal value.
