Studio Myr is a Dutch independent luxury knitwear label, founded by designer Miriam Lenarts. Built on a deep respect for tradition, artistry, and sustainability, the brand creates timeless fashion that is ethically produced, thoughtfully designed, and made to last.

A Family Thread

Miriam’s passion for textiles was shaped early. Raised by creative parents and grandparents — a seamstress mother, a tailor grandfather, and two generations of photographers — her world was filled with fabric, art, beauty, and craftsmanship. Her mother taught her to knit. Her father taught her to see.

This heritage lives on in every piece she designs.

“My mother had a great taste for interior design and fashion. Under her influence I discovered the value of beautiful fabrics and the craft of making clothes. She designed her and my clothes, according to the fashion in the French magazines, and had them made by a seamstress.

She also taught me how to knit, although it didn't do much for me at the time.

When she bought clothes, she did so deliberately. In order not to have to compromise on quality, she first saved up the amount.”

From Intuition to Form

Miriam studied fashion at the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts, where she fell in love with the knitting machine. Years later, as a single mother juggling multiple jobs, she returned to that love — knitting in lunch breaks, designing in stolen moments, and eventually producing her first garments by hand.

That journey led to a partnership with Knit-it, one of the last knitting factories in the Netherlands. Today, she still creates all samples herself before they are fully fashioned in small runs and hand-finished in her studio.

Sustainably Made in the Netherlands

Studio Myr’s collections are made exclusively from certified natural yarns — including extra fine merino wool (RWS), organic cotton (GOTS), and Masters of Linen® certified linen. Every step of the process, from design to finishing, is done locally in the Netherlands.
