Traditional textile crafts have always been a profound source of inspiration in my work.
Among them, the centuries-old knitting traditions of the British Isles and Ireland hold a special place — their techniques shaped by landscape, climate and generations of craftsmanship.
The Aran Collection pays homage to the iconic knitwear of the Aran Islands, off the west coast of Ireland.
Though the precise origins of the Aran sweater have been woven into legend, its intricate cables and symbolic motifs are believed to echo Celtic patterns carried to the islands as early as 2000 BC.
What remains unmistakable is the beauty of the craft: richly textured, resilient and deeply connected to the rhythm of life along the Atlantic shore.
In this collection, I reinterpret these mesmerising motifs into refined, feminine sweaters and matching headbands.
To honour the depth and robustness of traditional Aran knits, each piece is crafted from up to twelve carefully intertwined threads of extra fine Merino wool and mercerised cotton.
Their four natural shades are blended randomly during knitting, creating a bold marled texture — organic, expressive and quietly sophisticated.
Knitted in small series and finished by hand in the Netherlands, the Aran Collection blends heritage and modernity, preserving the spirit of ancient craft while offering a soft, elegant expression suited to contemporary life.
