There are moments when a collection leaves the studio and begins a life of its own.
Last Friday, the garden of Studio Myr became the setting for the Sunset Soirée, an intimate summer gathering where guests were invited to discover the new collection at their own pace. Beneath the old cherry tree, surrounded by greenery and soft afternoon light, the knitwear found its natural home.
The Sunset Collection began with a simple fascination: the quiet transition of colour in the evening sky. Warm gold slowly gives way to soft lilac, muted rose and gentle earth tones, each shade blending into the next without clear boundaries. Rather than capturing a single moment of sunset, the collection explores the beauty of gradual change.
Presenting the collection in the garden felt like a natural continuation of that idea. Instead of a formal presentation, visitors were free to wander, to touch the knitwear, to discover the details and to experience the colours as they changed with the daylight filtering through the trees.
Throughout the afternoon, conversations unfolded as naturally as the setting itself. Pieces were tried on, combinations were explored and stories were shared over a glass of wine and small summer refreshments. There was no hurry, only the pleasure of taking time to appreciate craftsmanship and the quiet luxury of beautifully made textiles.
Looking around, I realised that afternoons like these have become an important part of Studio Myr. Designing knitwear is not only about creating garments. It is about bringing together materials, craftsmanship, nature and the people who give each piece its own story.
